I do not believe that women are necessarily more spiritual or religious than men. It is quite difficult to trace one’s religiosity to any particular God gene within one’s system; however, I believe that the notion of belief and conviction is most closely associated with one’s gender, rather than sex. The notion of gender roles and the way in which boys and girls are socialized into different ways and in different roles; can play an important role in construing the religious makeup of an individual. The cult of domesticity and the notions of care and nurturance are sought to be seen as directly associate with women and are directly more compatible with religious values.
